For those of you who haven’t heard the FDA had a hearing on February 2nd involving the many antidepressants otherwise know as SSRI’s (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors) and their use in children.  Safety concerns were launched in the UK last year when it was revealed that a drug manufacturer was withholding clinical trials demonstrating that children were 3 times more likely to kill themselves when on a certain antidepressant.   The investigation by the UK of the many antidepressants given to children led the country to ban all but one SSRI for use in children.   The United Kingdom’s action forced the US to launch its own investigation into the matter.   To read more on this important issue click here http://ablechild.org/alert.htm.  To read AbleChild’s recent press releases on this important event click the below links provided for convenient information:
