Suspect in Elementary School Break-in Ritalin Addict
CUMBERLAND, MD
Police say the people who broke into an elementary school in Cumberland were looking for drugs. Westside Elementary was hit early Tuesday morning. The men broke windows, ransacked offices, and used the blade from a paper cutter to tear through doors.
Police
arrested 29-year-old William Austin Green III, pictured here, near the
school. Meanwhile, police are still looking for his accomplice, but they don`t
know his identity yet.
"There has been a rash of school breaking and enterings because of certain drugs that are kept at the schools for the students. Ritalin would be one of them and we`ve noticed that they`re attempting to break into the nurse`s office to steal this Ritalin. The schools keep it secure now in hidden locations. It`s not easily found and these men this morning did not find it," said Sgt. David Biser with the Cumberland City Police.
This is the fifth school break-in in Allegany County since October.
